1. Your server is a full featured server equipment that runs an operating system, database and services. It will work best if some guidelines are followed:
a. Always run the server from a battery backup power supply. A UPS has battery and surge-only outlets. Always plug the server to the battery backup outlets.
b. Replace the UPS battery regularly. In a general usage scenario, a UPS battery will lose capacity after 12 months.
c. Avoid a sudden power outage on the server (unplug the server from its power outlet).
The recommended procedure to power the server down is to run a “graceful shutdown” by either:
-Press the server’s power button once.
-Or login to the server and shut the server down via Admin/Server Shutdown function.
In 60 seconds the server front LED will turn off indicating the server is down.
Following these guidelines will help the server maintain data integrity and extend server longevity.
