Objective:
This document aims to explain the key concepts of the cash balance report, that is available on Management-> Reports.
Once the page is opened, on the left, you can choose between the slot cash balance report (slot icon), the cashier cash balance (dollar sign $), and the time frame of the report.
The cashier cash balance is the same concept that is explained in Understanding reports - Close Accounting, so this doc will focus on the slot cash balance report.
Once the time frame is selected, click on 'Run' to see a report with the same header shown below:
Slot Identification
Slot: Label number of the slot machine.
Game: Type of the slot machine.
Revenues
Bill in Meter: Money inserted in the slot red by the bill validator.
Match Play Collected: Amounted inserted in the machine from a matchplay ticket. Important to highlight is that this match play value does not count the promo value of the ticket. For example: if the client buys a U$30.00 ticket with U$20.00, this column will just take into account the U$20.00 paid by the customer.
Physical Cash In: This is the amount that is physically counted at the location in the slot machine (more used in casinos).
Expenses
Tickets Cashed (cashier): Cashable tickets issued by the machine redeemed at the cashier.
Hand Pay: Amount that the slot has paid in a Handpay scenario.
Jackpot: Amount that the slot machine has paid a slot Jackpot. (machine specific Jackpot)
Balance
Bill Cash Balance: Cash balance of the slot without considering the match play. Bill In Meter - (Tickets Cashed+Hand Pay+Jackpot).
Match Play Cash Balance: Cash balance of the slot considering the match play collected for that machine at the cashier. (Bill In Meter + Match Play Collected) - (Tickets Cashed+Hand Pay+Jackpot).
Physical Cash Balance: It's the physical amount counted in the slot. Physical Cash In - (Tickets Cashed+Hand Pay+Jackpot).
Bill In Yield: If the balance of the slot is positive, this number will be less than 100%. (Tickets Cashed+Hand Pay+Jackpot)/Bill in Meter.
Days: Number of days that the slot has been online for the selected time frame. Example: if the slot has been online all business day and the time frame of the report is 'Last Closing', this number will be '1d'.
Meter Age (h): This number indicates how old is the electronic reading reported to system. For example: if the slot has been reported to the system all day and the time frame of the report is 'Last Closing', this number will be '0h'.
Side notes:
Why do I see one slot with the letter 'A' before the slot number written in red?
When there is A-X (red), this means the slot was archived. Archiving stops the slot meter history. If the slot comes back online, it starts a new history for data acquisition. The archive is only required when the slot meters are reset, or when the slot is pulled from the floor.
For example:
If you have slot 2 that was archived on a Friday and promoted again (just to change settings), when you run a weekly report (Monday to Monday), you’ll have the A-2 Monday to Friday, and the 2 (currently active) from Friday to Monday. It breaks down the report into 2 “slots”. As the meters get completely reset to zero, this is necessary to maintain report accuracy.
